Description

Archaeological excavation prior to a proposed new house and associated infrastructure. The excavation rea covered the footprint of the building and the area covered by the 2015 trial-trench evaluation. The geology consisted of a modern plough soil, silty clay, and the natural which consisted of sandy clay. The excavation revealed a LIA/Roman co-axial field system and evidence of a possible nearby settlement (S1).
