Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on seventeen geotechnical pits were excavated. The test pits measured at 0.70m wide and between 2.30m and 3m long. The depth of each pit varied but they measured at several meters deep. An undisturbed geological deposit of chalk was encountered at a depth between 0.36m and 1.25m. Some modern disturbances were identified. No archaeological deposits or artefacts were encountered in any of the test pits (S1).
