Description

Archaeological monitoring of groundworks for a new extension attached to a listed building of early post medieval date. The foundations were excavated by machine excavator and two visits were made in good conditions to the site. The foundation trench area had been disturbed in the later post medieval period below 0.1m of topsoil. A previous extension had occupied at least 70% of the new build area. The floor of this 19th century extension and medieval pottery sherds were identified.
