Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on the excavation beneath the cart shed and associated floor reduction. Concrete slab and piling footings had been laid during the buildings use in the 20th century. These were removed in order to place a new floor, which would not truncate below levels. A systematic ground level reduction was carried out by machine and hand digging. This work uncovered a well and oven type feature (S1).
