Description

Archaeological monitoring was carried out on new trenches for a new dwelling and an associated large retaining wall. In total nearly 23m of 1m to 1.2m wide foundation trench for the retaining wall along the rear boundary and some 54m of a 0.7m wide trench for the new house were monitored. At its greatest exposed extent the overburden was nearly 2m deep. Abraded fragment of earlier post medieval tile fragments were recovered.
