Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on groundworks for a biomass boiler with associated pipe work. The footprint area of the boiler house was c.280m squared and the required shallow 0.35m foundations. The pope trenches were 0.6m wide, 0.9m deep and c.250m long. A further 50m or 0.4m wide and 0.6m deep trench was excavated to the east of the Coach House. A flint and mortar wall, a well, a soakway and a pit of later post medieval date were identified.
