Description

An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the development of a solar farm site. The proposed development area encloses an area of approximately 55ha. The subsoil was present in Field 1 situated to the north, although it was almost entirely absent in Field 2 to the south. This is due to levelling of the site for the construction of the airfield in the 1940s. Medieval ditches and features were identified to the north west and the remains of a post medieval field system was identified.
