Description

Excavation commissioned by Hopkins Homes Ltd in advance of proposed residential development. The excavation followed a geophysical survey and a trial trench evaluation. Topsoil was ubiquitous across the site being a firm, mid grey brown sandy silt with occasional flint 0.23-0.34m thick. This overlay subsoil comprising firm, mid orange brown sandy gravel with flint 0.14-0.2m thick. The natural was a firm, light to mid orange/yellow brown sand/sandy gravel with occasional flint 0.37m-0.59m below ground surface. The soils were deeper towards the south of the site (S1).
