Description
Monitoring of ground works for the conversion of a barn at TM 2638 7119. The floor area in the southern end of the barn had been lowered by approx 500m to 550mm being c.50mm off the surface of the natural subsoil. An area in the eastern half of the southern room was shovel cleaned down to the surface of the natural subsoil and inspected for features. The west-east section on the northern side of the room was cleaned. No significant archaeological features were revealed and no artefacts recovered. However, the makeup of the barn floor could be clearly seen (S1).
