Description

A preliminary report on the architectural history and the impact of proposed alterations of 17a Market Hill. It was proposed to retain and restore buildings at the front, block A, C and D, and then to demolish and rebuild the buildings to the rear left, block B and adjust floor levels of block E. This will preserve and enhance the courtyard enclosure, whilst enabling all parts of the premises to be made accessible to disabled users. The ground floor will be retail sales, with Office and Staff facilities. The first floor will comprise a storage area, a coffee show with associated prep area and customer toilets and lift. It is proposed to seal off the cellar and top floor of the main listed building (S1).
