Full Description
St Andrew's Church is situated on the E of the parish and village. Early flint C14 tower with pedimented niches on W front in re-entrant of buttresses. The spire is covered with wood shingles and a Tudor brick stair turret has been added on the N side. The font bowl is late C15 and has armorially charged shields. Inside the church are traces of wall paintings, including many framed scriptores of the Elizabethan period on the N aisle wall. Heavy C20 restoration. The traces of paintings have been obliterated (S1).
A church is recorded at Cornard Magna in the Domesday survey.
