Full Description

A church is listed in Chediston in the Domesday survey of 1086. Church of St Mary, core of nave walls & windows in chancel are both Norman, C13 main structure & lower stage of tower (remainder C15), C14 doorway (built up) to N of nave, C15 alterations. Visited by William Dowsing in 1643/44. 1905 restoration.
