Full Description
Bramford Hall, built by John Acton in C17, 15-19 hearths in 1674. Heightened in early C19. Park over half a mile across in 1783 when owned by Nathanial Acton Esq. Park defined on HER map after Hodskinson's 1783 map (S1). Park of 300 acres (1990).
Most of the house was demolished early in 1956, a building materials sale taking place in March that year (S5).
July 1993: Footings recorded in area where new extension/conservatory to be built.
August 1993: All building footings examined belonged to Georgian hall, and there was no evidence for any earlier structures or finds of earlier date. Footings indicate small-sized rooms, perhaps not an important part of hall but representative of store rooms or outbuildings (S4)
