Full Description
Suggested Domesday church in Peasenhall recorded under Saxmundham - see SXM Misc.
Church of St Michael. Consists of chancel, S vestry, nave, N porch, W tower.
1146-1174: Consecration of churchyard of Chapel of Peasenhall; the rights of which were preserved to the mother church of Sibton. Late C12 font. 1234:
Chapel of Peasenhall annexed to Church at Sibton (SBT 016).
C14/C15: N porch, lower stages of tower.
1860: Nave & chancel pulled down and rebuilt in C15 style. Tower repaired and heightened (S1-S3).
