Full Description

A church plus 20 acres is recorded in Rushmere St Andrew in the domesday survey of 1086.
Church of St Andrews. Consists of chancel with N aisle, nave, aisles, W tower. Has Norman S doorway.
Circa 1521: Tower re-erected on earlier base by bequest of Mrs Cayde `The new steeple should be in the like fashion etc, with that of Tuddenham'. 1643: 17 pictures removed by Dowsing.
1861: Entirely rebuilt, except S doorway and tower, in Early English Style. 1968: Enlarged (S1).
