Full Description

Field (numbered 227) located on a tithe map of Groton in 1839, by the name of Kiln Field. The field name suggests there was once a kiln on or close to the field, although there is no indication of what type of kiln it was (S1). Note a brickmaker is recorded at Groton in the later C16 and in 1844 (S2).
