Full Description
Line of former road to Brandon Park House (see BRD 091) from A1065. Eastern third survives as wide forest ride with large conifer tree lined avenue, further W planted by Forestry Commission, mainly in 1930s, some replanted within last 3-4 years (S1). In 1990 (S2) a bank was shown lining the N side of the avenue at TL 774 848 but this is one of the areas recently replanted - present condition unknown.
2015: A walkover survey of the site of Brandon Park Heath revealed that it was still possible to discern something of the earthwork marking the northern extent of the track at TL 774 848 mapped in 1990 (S4)
For sub-rectangular enclosure on same alignment on N side of roadway, see BRD 121.
Bank BRD 122 may represent entrance splay to SW end of roadway. See (S3) for pre-forestry plantation width. Probably dates to construction of Brandon Park House, circa 1800.
