Full Description

Ancient woodland as defined in (S1).
For details of history and earthworks see (S1), the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, English Nature, The County Council Countryside Section and various Oliver Rackham works including (S2).
Note map of 1611 exists (S3).
Area defined on HER mapping expanded to match that mapped by OS in 1880s (CP, December 2013). Northern part of Ancient Woodland survives. Some earthwork survival showing on 2m resolution LIDAR (S4).
