Full Description

1970: Acheulean hand-axe from cart track, probably consolidation material from elsewhere, (S1, S2).

There is an area of excavations (visible on Lidar) directly to the west (LWT 268). However it is unknown whether this is the remains of the World War 2 battery or post war extraction. On the 1945 aerial photograph there are what appear to be bomb craters, (S3).
