Full Description
Multi-period site, mainly Iron Age and Roman occupation and burials. Evaluation (1996) and Excavation (1999) revealed series of features and 5 burials in total. Details in (S1) and (S2). See also Iron Age.
This revealed dispersed ditches, pits and post-holes, indicating Iron Age, and possibble Saxon and Roman occupation. A single burial, probably Roman, was also found. The subsoil surface was uneven and ploughing had destroyed the archaeology on the higher ground, but it survived in the lower-lying regions. Details from (S3).
Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2002 (S4)
