Full Description
Metal detector finds of a C13 circular lead seal matrix. The die with a central 9-rayed star and inscription +S.REH\YLF/ : EVHODH [..] ' the seal of Renurf (?? f johon = sone of John). Impression taken. Also a steelyard weight, bronze with a lead core. Spherical with a flattened top and with three shields in relief bearing: (1) a fleur-de-lys; (2) two inverted chevrons (probably a corrupt version of the de Clare arms, three chevrons often occuring on steelyard weights after 1272); (3) a crdoss with a blob i each quarter. Also two 'Boy Bishop' tokens, one groat size, with an obverse mitre within circle of pellets + PRO . SOSPITAT [..] MAGIS SAN : /TAN/ICO/LAE : /ORA/PRO/NO/BIS.
The other is penny size with simple mitre on obverse and long cross with three pellets in each quarter on reverse (S1).
