Full Description
Evaluation revealed a concentration of undated shallow features. One pit contained EIA pottery but this was very abraded and thought to be residual. Possibly part of scatter associated with Carlton Hall (CAC 004), of Sax or med foundation.
In the extreme SW corner of the site, a concentration of largely undated features are thought to be outliers from a scatter associated with Carlton Hall (CAC 004) to the immediate SE. This building is thought to be on the site of a med, or possibly Sax, manor.
Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2003 (S3).
