Full Description
Monitoring of a new oil interceptor at Caudle Head uncovered peat deposits sealing a single undated ditch. Peat and water lain sand deposits were more shallow to the east of Caudle Head mere than to the south. Undatable animal bone and fired clay fragments on the subsoil surface in the area east of the mere indicated the proximity of the known Roman settlement (S1).
Assessment of the potential for the analysis and publication of the archaeologicial finds at RAF Lakenheath (S2).
