Full Description

Evaluation encountered four phases of activity on the 5ha site. A group of features continuing animal bone, oyster shell and Late Saxon/early medieval pottery was recorded in trench 8, indicative of domestic activity in the vicinity.
Also series of mainly Med and Post Med metal detector finds (recorded in PAS) found in towards S end of spoil left on NE edge of field following evaluation but prior to excavation. These included coin of Edward the Confessor (PAS, SF-D86945).

Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2007 (S2).
