Full Description
Rather denuded round mound/barrow earthwork of circa 30m diameter in centre of Forestry compartment. Shows on LIDAR 2m resolution image (S1).
October 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A possible Bronze Age Round Barrow is seen as an earthwork on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data (S2-S3). The mound is approximately 30m in diameter and most likely relates to a Bronze Barrow. The possible Barrow is in close relation to a further possible Bronze Age Barrow to the east (WSW 206) and a scheduled Barrow (WSW 013) to the west. The mound is not recorded on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map (S4). The monument polygon has been amended to correlate with the location of the feature on the visualised lidar data.
