Summary

Excavation identified a post-medieval ditch-and-hedge , running north-south parallel to the modern A134, as well a series of inter-cutting chalk quarry pits, probably Victorian in date.

Full Description

A small archaeological excavation revealed a post-medieval ditch-and-hedge, running north-south parallel to the modern A134, as well a series of inter-cutting chalk quarry pits, probably Victorian in date. There is one other possible ditch, running east-west, although it could also be a natural gully (S1).
