Full Description
Church of St Clare.
Structure: chancel, nave, S porch, embattled W tower. Date originally Early English. Church positioned in the centre of the parish. Status rectory (S3).
Part of C13 sepulchral slab built into the S chancel wall. Stoup inside S door. Stuart holy table and three simple C15 poppy heads. The arch-braced collar roof to chancel has very nice pierced tracery filling in spandril (sic) above collar (S1).
The church is of flint and stone, mostly of the Perpendicular period. It was thoroughly restored in 1874. The register dates from 1538 (S2).
