Full Description
2014: Evaluation trenching revealed large quarry pits in two of the trenches. The finds suggest an early post-medieval data for the start of this activity. The activity may relate to quarrying for the extraction of chalk or possible marl pits. A single ditch, corresponding to the a ditch visible on the 1903 OS map was also visible (S1).
