Full Description

A single oval pit was recorded at the southern end of this trench. This pit measured approximately 1.7m by 1m and 0.3m depth. The fill [164-04] was a dark brownish grey sandy silt rich in charcoal and containing fragments of wood. The ‘fresh’ appearance of the wood suggested to the excavator that this feature was probably modern (S1).

Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2013 (S2)

Archaeological desk based assessment of the route of the water main (S3).
