Monument record HRM 016 - Post medieval ditch and pottery sherds of Roman to 16th century date at Land adjacent to Firethorn, The Street, Horham

Post medieval broad and shallow ditch which runs parallel to and is 20m to the south of The Street, and orientated north-west/south-east. The fill contained a few small Post medieval peg tile fragments. It is suggested that it marks a former land plot boundary. A number of abraded pottery sherds were recovered from the field surface around the trenches. 1 Roman rim sherd (4g), 2 11th-12th century sherds (10g), 12 12th-14th century sherds (45g) and 5 15th-16th century sherds (S1).
