Full Description

May 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
The site of a possible Bronze Age round barrow or medieval to post medieval mill mound is visible as a soil and cropmark on aerial photographs (S1)-(S3). During the Second World War, the site was overlain by a line of barbed wire (part of military training area and/or strong point LCS 203). However due to the conventions of NMP mapping, and the desire to show the full extent of the barrow/mill mound site, this relationship is shown in reverse in the mapping, i.e. the barbed wire cut by the mound site.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 15th May 2015.
