Full Description

2016: Archaeological evaluation trenching revealed a single post medieval trench located in the south eastern corner of the site. The ditch runs parallel to the modern road although it is not visible on 19th century maps. Brick recovered from it suggests that it pre-dates the 19th century. In the north of the site features associated with the Mid Suffolk Light Railway were identified (see SUF 076). The construction of the railway may have caused truncation of deposits in parts of the site (S1).
