Full Description

This stretch of track was erected to extend the existing line to now closed Norwich Victoria station in December 1849.
This stretch of track now comprises as part of the Great Eastern Main Line Service along with SUF 068 (Colchester to Ipswich) and SUF 069 (Ipswich to Bury St Edmunds).

Taken from NRHE record:
The Ipswich and Norwich Railway was authorised in 1846 as an Eastern Union Railways venture, and as an extension to the Ipswich and Bury Railway, to be built from a new junction at Haughley to Norwich Victoria Station. The Haughley Junction was a mile to the East of Haughley Station, causing the replacement of the latter by a new station at the Junction. At Trowse, South of Norwich, a junction was authorised with the Norfolk Railway. The line was opened from the South in sections, the whole line being open to passenger traffic in December 1849. In 1977 only Diss, Stowmarket and Needham Market stations of the intermediate stations remained open.
