Full Description

Evalaution trenching identified two intercutting ditches. The earlier ditch contained a sherd of 11-12th century pottery and the later ditch contained three sherds of pottery dated to the 13-15th century. It is possible that a group of former earthworks in the area may have been related to occupation and the presence of late medieval pottery in the later ditch could be seen to lend weight to this theory (S1).
