Full Description
September 2016. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
An area of cropmarks of fragmentary and undated ditches and field boundaries are visible on the aerial photographs (S1-S4), although it must be noted that some of these ‘ditches’ could feasibly relate to underlying periglacial striped ground. Some cropmarks and germination marks additional to the mapping may be present.
Although these ditches are undated, and of uncertain archaeological origin, a Roman or Saxon date could be suggested for these cropmarks, see Roman finds (for example BRD 076, BRD 085) and Saxon (BRD 081 and BRD 146) finds in the general vicinity.
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 19th September 2016.
