Monument record BRD 274 - Cropmarks of fragmentary and undated ditches and field boundaries

Please read our .

Summary

The cropmarks of fragmentary and undated ditches and field boundaries are visible on the aerial photographs. A Roman date could be suggested for these cropmarks, see nearby Roman finds (for example BRD 038 and BRD 076). However it must also be noted that of these ‘ditches’ could feasibly relate to underlying periglacial striped ground

Full Description

September 2016. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The cropmarks of fragmentary and undated ditches and field boundaries are visible on the aerial photographs (S1-S3). A Roman date could be suggested for these cropmarks, see nearby Roman finds (for example BRD 038 and BRD 076). Some cropmarks additional to the mapping may be present. However it must also be noted that of these ‘ditches’ could feasibly relate to underlying periglacial striped ground.
