Full Description
February 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The cropmarks of a ring ditch and a possible former mound, both potentially represent the remains of Bronze Age round barrow, were tentatively identified on aerial photographs (S1). A more convinced barrow site is located to the immediate north (BRD 005). It must be noted however that the paler sub-circular cropmark may relate to a geological feature. The ring ditch is much smaller than the nearby barrow site and appears to have a rectilinear stretch of ditch conjoined to it, so it must be borne in mind that it may relate to a domestic activity. As with the potential barrow, the ring ditch and ditch could feasibly also relate to underlying perigclacial patterning.
