Full Description
August 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
Two areas of possible low ridges, of an unknown date, are seen as earthworks on visualised lidar data (S1). The ridges centred at TL 8025 7344 are aligned approximately east – west whilst the low ridges centred at TL8024 7329 are aligned approximately north –south. It is possible that these ridges may have related to an area of possible medieval to post medieval ridge and furrow or possibly post medieval tree planting. Two parallel banks can be seen at TL 8019 7339 which run approximately east-west and are cut by a further bank (centred at TL 8015 7328) aligned approximately north-south. These banks most likely relate to post medieval boundary banks. The bank features and both areas of low ridges are not seen on the First Edition Ordnance Survey Map (S2).
