Please read our .

Summary

An area of multiple undated earthwork banks on various alignments are seen on visualised lidar data. The banks most likely relate to post medieval boundary banks with some of the banks mapped on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The banks are in close proximity to a large area of ridges which possibly relate to medieval – post medieval ridge and furrow or post medieval forestry (WSW 198). From the visualised lidar data and the alignment of the ridges, it is possible to suggest that some of the banks (may have related to boundaries for the possible ridge and furrow or post medieval tree planting. The earthwork banks are in close proximity to the parish boundary banks between the parishes of Wordwell and West Stow to the west (WRW 076).
