Full Description

Scatter of metalwork and pottery found metal detecting. Pottery grey wares and one probable amphora sherd. Coins range late C2 (Antoninus, Pius commemorative, AD 161) to mid C4 (up to AD 340), total circa 50 coins, one denarius (Severus AD 193-211). Brooches include Colchester, Hod Hill, several Colchester derivative type and a sitting duck type. Bronze miniature axe, modelled on a LBA type socketed axe, presumed Rom (comparable to one from Lackford, LKD 018). Bronze pin head ? Rom. Thin scatter of Late Med- PMed metalwork also recorded.
Further finds in 1986 include brooches (head-stud, Langton Down) and ? decorative attachment bull's head (S1).
Also IA pottery.
