Full Description

July 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
Possible Second World War military training features are seen as earthworks (before being subsequently levelled) on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The features consist of a number of banks, ditches, possible trenches and pits most likely relating to Second World War military training features. The embanked pit feature located at TL 8289 7687 is similar in form to further Second World War military training features recorded to the south west (WSW 146). The features can be seen as earthworks in the 1940s and have been subsequently levelled. The features are not seen on recent (2016) aerial photographs (S3). The possible training features are in close proximity to further possible Second World War military training features to the east (BNH 128 and BNH 172).
