Full Description

2022: Archaeological evaluation revealed a multi-period site, with features dating to the Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age, the Late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age, Roman and medieval to post-medieval. The archaeology predominately comprised ditches and pits, with a potential roundhouse identified in Trench 9. The roundhouse and waste from pits in Trenches 15 and 17, suggest evidence for settlement activity dating to the prehistoric within the site bounds. However, while some of the features were datable, only small quantities of finds were recovered, with the majority of the features artefactually sterile (S1).
