Full Description

1832 wreck of English packet which stranded near Orford High Light en route from Maldon to Sunderland; a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

`Alboro', 18th November - The ALBION PACKET, Marwood, from Maldon to Sunderland, in turning through Hollesley Bay last night, missed stays, came on shore near Orford Highlight and will be totally wrecked. Crew and materials saved.' (2)

NB: The name of the vessel suggests that she was specifically English, and this has accordingly been proferred as the nationality of the vessel. While probable, this is, however, not conclusive.
