ENGLISH BARQUE, 1854
Status: Casualty

`Vessel lost after taking the ground in thick fog and wind conditions SSW force 7. Estimated loss on the vessel 2500 pounds [sterling], which was insured for only 2000; loss on the cargo 700.' (1)

`Lowestoft 25th January - Some spars, sails & c. of the HEBE, Robinson, from Shields to Lisbon, which was wrecked on the Newcome Sands yesterday, have been landed here.' (2)
