1764 wreck of English cargo vessel which stranded on the Holm Sand en route from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to London with coal; a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

`...for London, is lost upon the Holmes near Yarmouth, but the people are saved.' (2)

`Yarmouth, Jan. 26. Last Saturday the ADVENTURE of Bridlington, burthen 350 tons, Tho. Pitt master, laden with coals from Newcastle to London, ran on the Home Sand off Lowestoff, and it's believed the ship and cargo will be lost.' (3)

`Newcastle, Feb. 4...The ADVENTURE, Pitts, from this place for London, is lost upon the Holmet near Yarmouth; the people are saved.' (4)
