Full Description

1832 wreck of collier, probably British, which foundered after grounding on the Holm Sand. Bound from Southampton to Stockton-on-Tees, she was a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

`Yarmouth, Nov. 22. On Tuesday night last, a large vessel...got on the Corton Sand, and on the same night a collier bound from Southampton to Stockport [sic], grounded on the Holm Sand. The latter soon after sunk...The crews of both ships are, we are happy to say, saved and have been landed here.' (1)
