Full Description

2019: Excavation and analysis for the material provided evidence for Early Bronze Age occupation and arable cultivation identified through three pits with associated pottery assemblages and cereal remains. In the Late Bronze Age an cremation cemetery, comprising nine burials was identified, extending into Site 25B to the north. Evidence of broadly contemporary occupation was recorded alongside the cemetery. Limited evidence of Early Iron Age occupation was recorded comprising a group of pits and postholes. A multi-phase field system, represented by multiple ditches is important for the interpretation and dating of an extensive cropmark complex in the area around the Sites 28A to D (S1)
