Monument record EDN 005 - Medieval artefact scatter of pottery and metalwork, including brooch, pilgrim badge and seal. (Med)

Surface finds from metal detecting near (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). Coins, mostly very worn - long cross pennies, clipped pennies, halfpenny. Pottery sherds also found (S1). Coins include a group of nine base silver "klippings" of Christian II of Denmark, (AD 1513-1523) used in his war effort against Sweden and presumably lost here by some traveller (S2)(S3). Further finds include tokens, purse frame fragments & fittings, belt stiffener/s, strap & tag ends, buckles, thimbles, a coin weight, dress fasteners, two pilgrim's badges & brooch(?), a ?cauldron/vessel foot, a spur rowel, an annular brooch with inscription, five lead seals, a C13/C14 bronze seal matrix and a bronze seal ring.
