Full Description

All Saints Church: nave, chancel & west tower. Basic fabric of flint rubble, nave horizontally coursed and with a surviving single light Norman window. Other architectural styles represented: Decorated and Perpendicular (S1). Church photographed with thatched nave but described as disused (S2). Fittings moved to Riddlesworth (Norfolk) 1933 (S3). in 1907 pencil graffitti on tower window reveal: American airmen from 1942-45 airbase. Described as decaying by 1961 (S4). Roofless and overgrown at time of SAU survey. Minor excavation in advance of building conversion recovered a group of glazed and decorated medieval floor tiles of Bawdsey type, possible `bell pit' at west end nave.
Converted to private residence in 1984/5, occupied in 1986.
