Full Description

1972: Flint axe, length 11.5cm (4 3/4 inches). ? Mesolithic - J Wymer: possibly Mesolithic tranchet axe, but may well be a forgery.

From the base of a bulldozed railway embankment, could have been brought there with the spoil for the embankment. Given by the Earl of Cranbrook, Red House Farm, Great Glemham, Saxmundham (S1-S6).

Note, both (S5 and S6) provide incorrect grid references for this find.
